Years of Art Progression

Edit: I highlighted a 2009 image as 2008 but its still listed under 2009, was an accident :3

I've never made an art progression like everybody else cause I never thought I pumped out enough art to do so.

But in the spirit of the new year/decade I decided to do one even though technically was I supposed to wait til the end of 2010 to do this?

Im not sure!

Cant believe its almost 2010! Think I was in the 7th grade during the big change to '00 but I dont remember it at all and I wish I did.

I dont think I got a tablet or discovered internet art communities til 2001, I was drawing since forever but I have no art readily available for 2000.

I found lots of great gems when doing this stored in folders deep down on my harddrive I tell you what, choosing a few was hard.

2001- I had a pablo picasso tablet or something like that. I was used to drawing animals but I discovered side7 and discovered oekaki and anime furries and eventually Domino and Evana and the lion king fandom . I dont know where those old arts went to. The wolf picture above was eyeballed from a wolf calendar.

2002- Im still learning photoshop and I leave my short anime stint behind. My serious practice attempt at realism was my dog, my second was the one that every has seen and was referenced from a calendar again.

2003- Open Canvas discovered! this was funny cause back then I didnt know the importance of dpi and print quality so everything I did was the size I drew it at. I also didnt have the full version of Open Canvas so if I wanted to save I had to print screen and save it in photoshop I could also eyeball pretty well but finding your own style and drawing from your imagination is harder.

2004- A huge year. I discover prints and the need to draw large.

2005- 04 continued! I drew alot and tried to do lots of detail. Then I graduated highschool.

2006- I couldnt find really anything lol, apparently this year didnt exist much.

2007- hard to recover from 06 :/ I had alot of sketches though just didnt finish anything of major quality as I did in 2005.

2008-same but I dabbled in experimental other things that werent fuzzy or cute or animals. I wanted to do fanart I just didnt feel it was up to quality. The first picture I believe was actually drawn in 07 or 06, I just finished it in 08 gasp.

2009- I did some stuff! and most of it was all in mspaint and posted in my livejournal. Drawing dumb stuff for fun was actually fun! I still dont have much patience for wanting to go overboard in details..trying to find the balance of looking like theres alot of detail but not. Sometimes sketchy can be better.

Heres to the new decade. I think I've improved a little :3 I may post more old old art in my livejournal later. I certainly want to do an evolution of my characters and stuff.
